As predicted by PV news, the production market share of monocrystalline (including standard mono and cast mono) will be over 90%.   

1.Huge production capacity of monocrystalline

1)Longi:

The production capacity of Longi in 2019 is close to 40GW, and in 2020 it will reach 65 GW, which will exceed 90GW in the future. The specific production distribution is that 1568 monocrystalline furnaces in Yinchuan. On May 18th 2019, the construction of the fourth phase in Yinchuan started, and another 1568 monocrystalline furnaces have been planned. The planned production capacity of the fourth Phase in Yinchuan is 15GW; 512 monocrystalline Furnaces in Zhongning of Ningxia province; in Baoshan the Phase Ⅰ with 768 monocrystalline furnaces has been finished and the basic construction of the Phase Ⅱ with 768 monocrystalline furnaces is currently completed; and in Lijiang Phase Ⅰ with 768 monocrystalline furnaces, Phase Ⅱ with 750 monocrystalline furnace have been planned; in Malaysia Longi has 320 monocrystalline furnaces.

2)Zhonghuan
In Huhehot there are finished 3344 monocrystalline furnaces in the first, second, third and fourth phases, with a capacity of 30GW in 2019. On July 18, 2019, the ceremony for completion of the fifth phase of Zhonghuan was held in Hohhot. The planned capacity of the fifth phase is 25GW. And the capacity is expected to reach 55GW in 2020.
3)Jinko
Jinko has a plan with production capacity of 25GW. Xinjiang Jinko currently has a capacity of 7GW, 800 monocrystalline furnaces, and plans to add another 240 furnaces; Leshan Jinko has a planned capacity of 8GW, a total of 900 monocrystalline furnaces, and currently the capacity of 5GW has been finished. In 2010 all production in Leshan will be started. Furthermore, In Xining Jinko has a plan with 480 furnaces.
4)Wuxi Shangji 
Wuxi Shangji has a plan of 5GW production capacity with 824 monocrystalline furnaces, and 300 furnaces have been completed and started producing; others are in a quick process.
5)JA Solar
JA is the earliest private monocrystalline production company in China. Before 2015, its crystal pulling cost was lower than that of Longi. Currently, JA has a capacity of about 5GW. In Baotou Jingao has 192 monocrystalline furnaces and in Xingtai has 160 older monocrystalline furnaces, in Songgong 120 old furnaces, and in Qujing Jinglong is currently building a factory, which contains 192 new monocrystalline furnaces. JA also has a plan in Vietnam with 160 furnaces
6)Solargiga Energy
Solargiga Energy is also one of the companies that has been engaged in monocrystalline. At present, it has a capacity of about 4GW. The total number of furnaces is about 630. The distribution is: 250 monocrystalline furnaces in Jinzhou, 192 furnaces in Qinghai, and in Qujing 192 furnaces began to be put into production in February 2019 and more furnaces have been planned. 
7)Jingyuntong Tech
Jingyuntong currently plans to have about 800 monocrystalline furnaces in Wuhai, Inner Mongolia, 400 furnaces for the first phase and 400 for the second phase, of which 250 are 90 type furnaces and 550 are 120 type furnaces.
8)East Hope
East Hope has a plan of 8GW monocrystalline production capacity in Changji, Xinjiang. Currently, there are nearly 200 furnaces in production.
The production capacity and planned production capacity of the above 8 companies are relatively large, but some companies should not be underestimated. They are always ready to invest monocrystalline, such as Ningxia GCL, currently 270 furnaces, 2GW capacity, Baotou Canadian, Sichuan Yongxiang, Qixian Dongci, etc.
The number of furnace bases of other monocrystalline companies is shown in the following table. In 2019, the monocrystalline production capacity is about 98GW, and in 2020, the production capacity will reach 187GW.

2.Polycrystalline converted to cast monocrystalline
With the release of monocrystalline silicon wafer production capacity in 2020, the probability of monocrystalline silicon wafers will be reduced, resulting in further reductions in the prices of polycrystalline silicon wafers. More and more polycrystalline silicon wafer manufacturers will reduce production or even stop the production of polycrystalline silicon wafers, such as GCL, Canadian, Rietech, LDK, etc. may mainly produce cast monocrystalline silicon wafers. Even though there is no price reduction for monocrystalline silicon wafers, polycrystalline silicon wafers are still falling. At present, in the market the high-efficiency polycrystalline silicon wafers are 1.65 RMB / piece, and medium-efficiency polycrystalline silicon wafers are 1.55 RMB / piece. This has caused most polycrystalline silicon wafer companies to lose cash, such as recently Baotou JA solar has stopped the production of polycrystalline silicon wafers, and Jinko will also switch to the production of straight-pull monocrystalline silicon wafers and monocrystalline modules.

 

In addition, it was reported by Photovoltaic News that Baotou Canadian G8 cast monocrystalline yield is more than 60%, and it has planned to put G8 cast monocrystalline in batches into production.
3.Polycrystalline cell production lines are ceased or reduced in production volume
Polycrystalline cells have continued to fall. Compared with October, the prices of diamond wire polycrystalline batteries and black silicon polycrystalline cells have dropped by 0.1 RMB/ W, and diamond wire polycrystalline batteries have dropped from 0.78 RMB/W to 0.68. RMB/W, the black silicon polycrystalline cell decreased from 0.83 RMB/W to 0.73 RMB/W. Most polycrystalline cell prodcution lines are also losing cash. The following table shows the domestic production status of polycrystalline cell production lines (from network, without verification one by one, for your reference only). From the statistical data, it becomes normal situation that polycrystalline  to face no buyers in 2020.
